... doctors, opticians and especially drugs. The street was full of little shops and items of souveneirs, full of people, both tourists and Mexicans, walking from one place to another. The sweltering heat (40 C), almost impossible to go very long without going into shops to cool off, some only with fans.
After lunch in a typical Mexican restaurant in the area and buy some souveneirs, walking back to USA on Rio Grande.

Laredo, Texas, United States jacobsimsMonday the 13. We had to get up early in the morning to pack. We brought stuff from the house to the motor home. We stopped doing that at 1:30. When we left, we got on highway 83.w. We had a blowout on highway 83n. We heard a lot of noise and the rv started to shake. We waited 3 to 4 hours on the side of the road and the temp was 110*. Papaw brought out chairs and we sat in the shade of ...
Laredo, Texas, United States jacobsimsIts 6:15 PM, and our bus is about to depart for Queretaro, where we will connect to another bus or taxi onto San Miguel de Allende. I was surprised at how easy it was to get across the border. Karen and I went to the Mexican Consulate in Laredo to get our permisos. After eating lunch with my folks, we went to International Bridge #1 where we walked across with our luggage. Once across, we went into the immigration office to pay the fees for the permiso and then walked a few ...
Nuevo Laredo, Mexico hrsanchez... last minute Christmas rush, provisioned up and headed to the Casa Blanca State Park. Very close to to the City, the park had a lot of full time residents taking up all the prime spots. We put the boat in the water and tested out the motor, she ran like a dream. We talked about leaving Christmas eve because the site we had was pretty ****** and not level, but while James and I were out fishing in the boat ...
Laredo, Texas, United States mcgregors5... we could have done for him. We drove on through alternating hard and light rain through Catarina and Carrizo Springs. By the time we got to Eagle Pass we were getting pretty hungry so we pulled into the Border Café at the junction of 277 and 57. There we had a fine Mexican Plates and iced tea served by a big waitress that called us "baby doll". When we told her where we were heading, she told us the bridge was under water ...
Laredo, Texas, United States trialsrider... at the border. We got to the bus station and thank god the bus was at 10:40 cause that place was grim and miles from anywhere. We were crossing at Laredo/ Nuevo Laredo and I had found a news entry on the internet saying that it was a highly dangerous place to go as its one of the main points of entry for cocaine crossing into the States and the drug cartels are at war (the same drug cartels that have recently kidnapped and killed a load of American Journalists ...
Laredo, Texas, United States frankandcharlie... where it was clearly marked visitor parking. Trying to reason with this fool was not going to work. I told him estamos en los %#@* Estados Unidos and what was with this @#%* ocho #%*@ ? No, esta Mexico, esta los %#&@ Estados Unidos! I thought about my options and it seemed the best thing to do was wait it out. Anything else would put me in Eagle Pass a lot later. There were quite a few vehicle in line by the time they opened the bridge, late I might add. After ...
Laredo, Texas, United States trialsrider... section eight, they were tearing it down. It looked like I just might make it in time. I hit the last drop-off that leads into the parking lot and rode up to Brenda Hogan at the scoring table. I was so happy to finish that I was laughing as I told her that I was a lot of things, but a quitter wasn't one of them. As I cut loose my scorecard from the throttle cable and handed it to her I looked at the clock. It was 12:30. I hung around and waited while my score was tallied up. I had ...
Austin, Texas, United States trialsrider... from their morning papers long enough to even notice Zoobley and the U.S. Customs folks only wanted to know if we were both U.S. citizens. Nuevo Laredo was exactly what I expected, a lot of people aggressively trying to sell a lot of junk. When you cross the street from the international bridge, there is immediately a gauntlet of shady men offering to get you anything they think an American might want. Spotting ...
