... to get on the 12:00 tour. So while we were waiting, we looked at the exhibits and watched the obligatory 10 minute video.
This was the third dam we have visited on this trip, and the third time I've forgotten to wear my "Trust Me I'm and Electrical Engineer" T-Shirt on the tour. The time passed quickly and all of a sudden it was time for our tour. They started by taking us in a elevator down into what was originally one of the 56 foot ...

... get our passports stamps and watch the obligatory 20 minute movie. It turns out most of the things to do in the Mojave require a 4-wheel drive vehicle and lots of time. It went through the sorry history of the Italian and Irish mafia, the FBI and local police agencies' efforts to end it, the Kefauver Senate hearings that started to brought the workings of the mob to public attention and the ongoing wars ...

... Hersheys Shop and of course had to look in there. I got a special block of Hersheys chocolate that said Las Vegas on it! It turned out tasting like puke which was a shame but thats ok. We looked at the Harley Davidson cafe for Hyla and outside I bought a T-shirt that lights up when you play music! We were so exhausted tht we could barely walk so we got a cab back to the RV without seeing the lights. VEGAS! - Grace

Friday we say goodbye to Arizona as we head west on I-40 again to Nevada. This time the Hoover Dam is the border water, a sight to revisit next week. It was a pretty four hour drive with Desert vistas framed by the Black Mountains, then the Eldorado Mountains, then the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. We are excited for our upcoming antics on the strip in Vegas with our ...
