Tuesday July 11,2006 We are in downtown Madrid.Just finished having a Starbucks muy bien! Went to the bank of Spain and Bank of Madrid Exchange rate and commission are a killer! Just recovering from jet lag. Yesterday we found out they weren't kidding when they said everything closes down for a siesta! Having a great time.Love to all.

... other than walk around the city, which is so alive I cant believe it. There are bars on every block and people constantly sitting outside eating and drinking.
On Sunday I traveled to El Rastro with Miguel which is the equivalent of a flea market. Being that I have not settled into an apartment and was not aware of the need for a small chinese fan I did not end up buying anything. However, I ran into two students Ariel and Steve who invited me to go to ...
... but I can see it just fine in the store they have posters of all the famous art you can buy and I´ve seen it on tv enough. I just want to hang out with chill people maybe see caves and water and forests and mountains but i dont´want to see statues, but that´s all the people that live in the cities want me to do, and I have not met any chill people yet from europe only people originally born somewhere else and moved to Europe.
Madrid, Autonomous Region of Madrid, Spain sg2oo3... where we recognized some fruit, vegetable or meat as a part of the recipe. (Food is generally high on flour, sugar and grease, with smoking in all restaurants at all times-the effort at designated smoking areas didn't pass here in Spain.) Finally found a juice place and the fresh orange juice was a treat! The operator was 22 yrs. old, a colle student of I.T.(information technology). The oranges are fed whole ...
Madrid, Spain jwagnersd... I think some of that has to do with my stinginess (a lot of those places charge 10 euros for an entry fee, which I find to be absolutely ridiculous) since usually only a handful of rooms are open to the public for such a steep price. Anyways, well I paid to go into the Palacio Real in Madrid and I wasn't disappointed (I also got the 3.5 euro student ticket). Despite the fact that it was raining, probably closer to pouring, when we were there, the interior was ...
Madrid, Madrid, Spain and Canary Islands lar4290... in all honesty, if I knew Isabel would be there or if she somehow contacted me, I would probably go back if I ever found myself in a situation that allowed me to. There once was something there for me - in the right situation, could it be there again? Who knows! Upon arriving in London this time, I didn't feel all that excited to be there. But after walking around town the last few days, all the excitement returned. And I was ...
Madrid, Spain pwong... locked up in at night if you ask me. The food here is still outrageously expensive! I will barely limp back with enough to pay the rent! Oh well....it is all worth it and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Thursday I travel on to the island of Eivassa (Ibizza)...when I get back to Madrid on Saturday/Sunday I will upload a few pictures! Here´s hoping everyone is well, abrazos amor amistad me
Figueres, Spain acota_99well madrid, the place everyone told us not to bother with. it was just a big city, not much to see, might as well just stay in barcelona they said. well i suppose ´they´were half right. we took a wonderful spanish train (wonderful minus the stinky guy sitting next to colleen, and the lack of leg space) that had tvs and everything. im telling you our trip on this train in second class was nicer than viarail first class x1000. we got ...
Madrid, Spain angecolleen... some English ladies, Joy the Sth African, Liam the Brisbanite and Fausto the exuberant Brazilian. Chowed down the most nutritious meal i'd consumed in 10 days, hesitantly enjoyed another few cervezas then convoyed with the crew out for some kickass ice cream. Met up again with Nick's mate Zoelle, whom after last night's wasting woke up in a dishevilled state at 9am going around in circles on the central Madrid city loop train (see previous ...
Madrid, Spain thesaxmanSorry that we haven´t written yet...it has been super busy so far, and it is only day 2.5. The transit here was quite long, however, we did stop in a few countries we weren´t expecting....the UK and Germany to name a few. As we were passing over London, couldn´t help but think of our girls living there. Looks like a beautiful city....sleeping was not an easy feet on the flight, however, between the two of us, there was a lot of twitching and ...
