Jalan Low Yat Batu Ferringhi, Pulau Penang, Pinang, Malaysia, 11100, 4-890-5999
Ko Samui Island - A little piece of paradice We arrived safely in Thailand on Wed Feb 15, 2006 via mini van. NO more mini vans we vow. The journey was safe but we were crammed into a 12 person bus. Not fun for David and his long legs. Our week of relaxation at Ferranghi beach was excellent. Dispite the fact that we could not swim in the ocean because of the merky water and the jelly fish - we found a very clean and reasonably priced hotel. The Ferranghi Beach hotel caters mostly to people in ...

The flight took around hour and a half we enjoyed a couple of beers and a good rest on the plan after our manic trip to the airport. We arrived in Penang around 9.30pm. It was the speediest exit from an airport I have ever had, we flew through the security check point and bags were already going around the conveyor belt and we walked straight out to a guy waiting with a Bleakley sign to take us to the apartment, it was brilliant. The taxi guy was very friendly ...
Batu Feringgi, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia kateandlindsay... dish in Malaysia it seems. Everywhere we went, I saw at least one sign advertising FRIED OYSTER in big bold red letters. So I had to try it. Now, it may look unappetizing, but trust me on this – it was delicious! I was actually confused and thought that whole amalgamation of stuff on the plate was the fried oyster. “That’s a big oyster ...
Batu Feringgi, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia bruceandian... something that you never experienced before. No doubts, the most unique and charismatic place I’ve slept ...
Teluk Bahang, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia urbutis... the sand hills. A lot of Arabs come to Malaysia for holidays, since Malaysia is a Muslim country they must feel more comfortable traveling here, than, say, Koh Phangan. If anyone ever wondered what Muslim women wear on the beach all they have to do is look at what they wear on the streets. It's quite a sight to see women in burkas riding on sea-doos and swimming in the ocean.
Penang is famous for its food; a couple Malaysian friends of mine told me that ...
... into a Bollywood movie and that at any moment everyone will break into a synchronized dance that you don't know the moves to. Frightening. The smells in this city for the most part are something that I will miss.... all the spices.... it seems like you are never more than a block from a chinese spice shop (which smell amazing) or somewhere cooking something that smells delicious on the street..... lots of spicy curries and chinese roast duck ...
Georgetown, Pinang, Malaysia heatherlindsay... which offered a ride by air-conditioned minibus from our hotel door to any hotel in Tanah Rata for 50 RM. The only problem with the deal from the Banana Guesthouse was that we were going to be picked up at 6:00, which is way too early for a night-owl like me. I had trouble sleeping on our final night in Penang and only managed two hours of sleep before it was time to get up and catch our ride to the Cameron Highlands. When we got to the lobby ...
Pinang, Malaysia aaronpolarbear... had a shower, got ready, went to change some Thai baht into Malaysian Ringgit, then went to get some food. We found ourselves in Little India and went for the best curry that I have ever had outside of India. It was extremely cheap too. We then went for a beer, but limited ourselves to one beer each as being a Muslim country, the tax on alcohol is extremely HIGH! About the same price as England for a beer! We walked back to our hotel and went to ...
Georgetown, Pinang, Malaysia sophia_fadil... at Bangkok bus station at 7:30am - We still needed to get to Pattaya. We were fairly lucky, I asked a few people where I needed to go and was pointed in the general direction of the place where the buses would be, on my way there an enterprising guy asked where we were going and quoted us 130 baht each - I knew from my research this was a good price - headed to the mini bus and they loaded the luggage - the price had mysteriously risen to 650 thai baht, but I still knew that to be ...
Georgetown, Pinang, Malaysia acerockolla... second night there were two mice and a gecko in the room with us but that did'nt bither us at all, it's amazing how you just come accumstomed ro these things as you travel. Georgetown was a nice place, there were areas such as fort Cornwallis which were almist shrines to the British East India Company. We toured arounfd to some of the temples and mosques and when the midday heat kicked in we made our way to the shopping complex and chilledout in the aircon ...
