One stone lost in 6 weeks

A travel blog entry by sueshuttleworth

... energy requirements for the day.

Also been out most days litter collecting, plus one morning helping to plant some very small saplings along the bypass. Lots of bending, stretching and carrying heavy bags of litter around - much more energetic/tiring than you might expect when you go looking for old litter, far under prickly bushes and trees.

The stone I've lost appears to have gone of ...

So, 18,198 miles later our trip is complete and we are home!

The past 3 and a half weeks have gone so fast. Both had a fantastic time and did not want to come home. We have seen some amazing sights ranging from the hustle and bustle of cities such as Las ...

Inches of fat lost

... must have gone from my horrible spare tyre and top of my thighs in such a short time.

Am aiming for these trousers to be comfortable to wear at my university reunion in about 5 weeks - and at this rate they may even be comfortably baggy as well!!! The proof will be in the pudding as they say.

Did have a few bad days earlier this week. Have come off my HRT after 5-6 years of taking them ...

    A great weekend

    from

Having read some of the reviews we were expecting the worse when we entered our room. In fact we were more than pleasantly surprised. It was spacious, well furnished and had a sea view with a large bacony. The only downside was the lack of AC on what was an extremely hot weekend. We stayed with a large group and know that some people were disappointed with their rooms.

    Fantastic Hotel, very enjoyable weekend.

    from

I stayed at the Fernlea for the weekend with my girlfriend and had a wounderful time. The hotel has got a fantastic team working there followed by excerlent service offered to the guests. We stayed in one of the Sea View bedrooms which was made even better due to the good weather we had that weekend. The bedroom we stayed in was very clean and furnished to a high standard. We ate in the restaurant both evenings and were very impressed with both again the service and the food presentation. I will be returning in the furture.

Great stay at the Fernlea Hotel in Lytham St Annes

My wife and I stayed at the Fernlea Hotel, and had a super weekend break. We received a very warm welcome. Food and service was first class, and we thoroughly enjoyed the weekend. We would recommend to our family and friends

    Grubby hotel rooms!!

    from

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for one night, along with my parents and aunt & uncle.

    Not worth the money

    from

I took my parents to stay here for the night and was really disappointed with the state of the rooms for the price.

The general impression as you enter the hotel is that it is all very nice. However, as you make your way to find your room you have this impending doom as the carpet quality, decoration and even the bedroom doors get worse and worse.

The bedrooms are fitted with 80's grey plastic 'put it together yourself' style furniture and the bathroom is very stark, basic and reminds you of a hospital. Overall, they really need updating and definately not worth the price we had to pay - similar to a night in a very decent hotel in central manchester. Wouldn't recommend it at all.

    Avoid

    Not impressed.

    Tired rooms, perky public areas

    from

We stayed here in February 2006 for a weekend away with friends.
