Schluss

Angie is vast veel liever voor me! Jocelyn wilde nog graag afscheid nemen, dus gisteren zijn we eerst in de stad ...

Day 11 - Twee villages and fluorescent dog collars

... on a street called Arneburger Strasse. Arnie-Burger - good eh? Also I saw a sign for a builder or Baumeister, whose surname was Schitthelm. Thank goodness he doesn't try to do trade in the UK. A bit like a British Mr Fick trying to live in Germany - look it up in a good dictionary. Other smaller places well worth another visit were Stapen (not even on my atlas) and Apenburg. This place had one shop, one school, and rows of fabulous biscuit-tin houses. That is not to say, of ...

Heidepark

... hatte doch ziemlich Angst!

Day 3 - Uelzen

... extra inner tubes. The rest of my ride was mostly uneventful, and the sceneries I've seen would have to be experienced in person. Crossing the Elbe was a big moment, made more so by the heavy shower of rain that lasted for only 20 minutes. But it was more than enough for me to refrain from stopping and digging out my camera. I've had another rainy day, but warmer and not quite as wet as yesterday. But it wasn't until I reached the ...

4 days in Hamburg

... visited museums, a community volunteer agency and a newspaper to name a few. The weather has been really cold, which is its usual state. Today we are off the Frankfurt, stopping on the biggest art fair in the world. The German people have been very friendly and it is easy to get around. Mike will be here in 3 days - yeah! More later

The Best of the Würst...

Here we stayed for a few days to rest at a family campground where everyone seemed surprised that we came such a long way from Canada and that my last name has a german meaning. There was a pond (lake-ish water) with ducks and I went swimming once. We played a lot of chess and some guitar, etc. When the the local shops (three bakeries ...

Hamburger land

A visit to hamburg is not complete without going to the local kiosk store and picking up half litre beers for a €1.20 a piece. I think this could be another place of debauchary and fun. We arrived in Hamburg and took the underground to a hostel to spend the night. It was a very nice hostel and on the 5th floor so we got an excellent view of other people's roofs. We took a self guided, half lost walking ...

Eclipse and another chapter

... Hamburg where I will now be hitchhiking. They are off to Amsterdam and then back to London. After a tense hour of no rides I managed to get picked up by the worst car on the road that day. The young guy driving didn't speak a lot of english seemed to think I was pretty crazy travelling around. After only 1km we got stuck in a massive traffic jam. An hour after that he dropped me off at a campsite so I ...
