... 3 euros each, Freida and Paola (and their driver) brought our knees painlessly down the rest of the mountain! By now, there were a lot of people on the road, so we felt rather royal. ... J Dachau was difficult and for me brought to mind the killing fields in Cambodia. Overwhelming sadness for all the innocent mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers,sisters. German school children are brought to these places in the hopes that this particular horror will never be repeated. The Alps - oh my gosh - we're in the Alps!! It really does look like Heidi and her grandfather could be on the mountain right behind us! (I know....wrong country.. But you get the picture.) ...

... was very long and up a hill. We could have taken a bus, but the trail was through a forest and the hike was very scenic and enjoyable. Our tour was great except that the number of people in our group was too large, people talked during the guide's presentation and people brought children that were too young to appreciate the castle. ... Asians ,in fact even in Fussen there are Asian restaurants to cater for the Asian tourists. We opted not to do the interior tour of the castle as the wait was too long and decided just to walk the perimeter and courtyard. The queues were long for the bus up to the castle so we decided to walk by the time we got back to the car everyone was looking for a drink. Back in Fussen , we searched for a warm cosy bar , we came across a Wine bar.(pic) ...

... Disney created the castle at Disneyland. But we didn't go into it because it's really such a tourist stop....several bus loads arrived just before us and the line for tickets was over a block long. We have one photo.. From a lovely cemetery in Fussen.

Our spellplatze for the night was quite large but comfortable with lots of stores within walking distance. We stayed two nights here because it rained all day ...
