Well where do I start with Innsbruck! How about ... This place rules! You hop off the train and you're surrounded by mountains and snow and happy people and laughter and beautiful blond women AND beer. Oh wait and there's more, the hostel I stayed in 'Doug's Mountain Getaway' just so happens to be the coolest place I've ever stayed. I woke up every morning with snow outside the door and a view so amazing it could take anyone's breath away. After ...
... and a snowball fight with Sophie, we decided to head back down as the DJ started cranking up the music. We couldn't believe how lucky we were with the weather as Sue even managed to get some colour into those pale London cheeks.
For dinner we headed to a restaurant nearby recommended by a local we chatted with in the cable car. Massive schnitzels and ribs were the order of the day for our final Austrian meal.

... Our first stop for coffee and cake was at a little town called Lofer. As we were having our drinks we looked out the window and noticed a small chair lift in operation and some skiers nearby. We decided that as it was just there we should see whether it would be possible to take the chairlift up the mountain and enjoy the snow- even if it was for Sophie to throw a few snowballs and be a snow fairy.
A very sad day
We woke up this morning to the news that our very dear friend Mark Hatt passed away yesterday afternoon, after a long battle with lung cancer. The world has lost a very, very good man, and our hearts go out to his wife, our dear friend Jennifer Alsop, his children, Alex, one of Elizabeth's best friends, and three year old Ben, and all of his family and friends.

Staying at another hostel. This hostel can sleep 22 people, but on sunday night it was occupied by myself and one other traveler. Tonight, it's me and 2 others. Only cost about 22 euros a night. Apparently in the summer it is full every single day, and prices are highest during oktoberfest. During the festival, every single hotel and hostel in Munich and the surrounding area is completely booked ...
