Innsbruck
... attraction at Innsbruck is the Golden Roof. The roof of a building is foiled with gold and is a nice backdrop to the huge lit-up Christmas tree in the centre of town. Both needing a new pair of pants, we ducked into the local H&M and spent around €20 each on a pair. Christmas Markets!
... past when a show was on. Guys were on unicycles doing really cool tricks, some even with fire. A small group of girls did an ice skating dance routine which was pretty good.
We were going to try and make it out to the Olympic skate ring while we were here so Dan could throw on some ice skates for the first time, but didn't quite work out for us, which is unfortunate, as that would have been heaps of fun.
There is not a hell of a lot to see here in Innsbruck, so ...

... near the summit I notice a sign saying “Restaurant 500m”. Oh great I think but as like every other hotel and restaurant in the Alps it won’t be open at this time of year. Well’ I ate my words, it was open and even better it was right on the top of the cliff edge right beside the bridge I saw from down below.
