... otherwise you might just find yourself heading right into the line of a oncoming car.

Of course what makes it even worse is that with the tourist season now over the local boy racers see this grand road as a race track and so play in their done up tin can cars up and down this pass having races which makes it extremely dangerous.

Finally the road is out of the trees and into the mighty mountains once again. Much of the road hugs or is simply laid on a ...

... br> Had a great time with both families...the kids were great with Max and everyone got along so well.
We didn't get back to Rapperswill until late....ate a good dinner (Christoph is a great cook!), did some repacking and said our good byes. They both had to leave for work early the next day.

Next stop the Nebelhorn in the Allgäu Alps

The next (crazy!) idea I had was to tackle the Nebelhorn - http://www.das-hoechste.de/en/summer/mo untains/nebelhorn/ which is just a four hour drive away in the Allgäu. The point of this madness was that from the bottom (815m) to the top (2224m) is around the same climb as I will do in Nepal (up to 1420m!). This was definitely the most difficult walking I've done so far. It was so steep at times with a variety of terrains from walking on tarmac roads ...

... out it is the bringing down of the cows from the highland holiday. It's a big celebration. These mountains are so steep there is no way the cows could be way up there and keep their footing or find food on the slopes in the winter months.

We stayed in a really nice little hotel in the town of Nüziders near Bludenz, Austria. These places are swamped during the ski season, ...

    Wonderful Wildspitze

Moved on this morning, up the Pitztal valley, just south
of Imst. Went up to the Pitztal glacier, taking the Glacier Express(tunnel
train) followed Tyrol’s highest cable car to the restaurant at 3,440m, near the
top of the Wildspitze (3,774m). Perfect weather for a day in the snow – blue
    skies and no wind.

Staying near Jerzens tonight. Had a great evening meal at
    the campsite restaurant ...
