    Just when you think it can’t get any better than Germany, over the mountains (and through lots of tunnels) lies the gorgeous valley of Seeboden in Southern Austria. The landscape here reminds me of Switzerland, and our little spot looks out over green meadows, a lake, lush forests and snow topped mountains. Pretty and relaxing, but a bit cold. We stayed here last year, and our sweet landlady was as happy to see us as we were to see her. ...

    ... in Italy! We did manage to find a smaller slope but there was no snow as it was lower down the mountain. We headed back to the other ski slope in town and went up that. There was a beginner slope there but also another mountain coaster like we went on in Germany. Obviously we went on that one too. There were awesome views over the side of the mountain and then you got to race the skiers at the bottom as you went along side the slope.

    ... to us all.

    Mum came up to join us at lunch time and we ate a mountain of food. Trystan even broke the golden rule and ate venison on Xmas Day (he said Rudolph was quite tasty!).

    After returning home we had a quiet arvo with some board game playing, movie watching and book reading. Due to our misjudgement of the shut shops, dinner was a rather pathetic affair of 'old ...

    ... put on a podium and given a medal and everything!) and so did Cullyn in his group too! Tallis apparently scored the fastest time on the practise run but on the timed race he missed the ‘ready set go’ which was given in German and stood there wondering why everyone else had already taken off before working out what had happened. Still he laughed it off and is happy with his snowflake, participatory medal. ...
