Maribors greatest claim is that it is home to the oldest vine in the world... (world record - it's 400yrs old!!)

Ptuj was an unplanned stop... We intended to go to Maribor, but we encountered some obstacles on the way... Firstly we headed south instead instead of north and after arriving in some place starting with 'Z' (& followed with about 13 letters)... After trying (unsuccessfully) to find the tourist office, we found a woman to help us - with her broken Italian and my poor Italian comprehension we found out where the train station was, how ...

... From the resting station Fürstenfeld, i found a 19-year old BMW driver, who was glad to drive around in nowhere, and offered me to bring me home..

So, here i am. I arrived at home, Fürstenfeld on Tuesday the 4th on 8pm. 4 weeks of travelling; It was a great experience at it won´t be the last time i was hitchhiking.

... 5 crazy bruce springsteen fans from Italy in a tour bus!! We had really greal loves, singing and discussing 2 Music of Bruce the whole time.. :D They dropped me at Maribor, where from after 10 minutes i continued my way to zagreb with a cuople from Czech. The last lift has been a nice man from Zagreb, who briefed me about some important things to know about Croatia as well as Zagreb itself.

Both came with copious amounts of raw onion but the meal was excellent - recommended.   The next day we were struck by Europe's 'Sunday curse' again; in an attempt to find some sort of brunch before embarking on the train to Ljubljana, the best we could manage was a chocolate ice cream and two satsumas with no supermarket or sensible food vendors open.
