... After an hour of sailing and sitting in the sun, sinking a few cold ales things relaxed as we stopped for a swim. By the night we had all downed a 'few' more cold ones and were all getting on as though we alll knew each other really well. The next morning we all woke with severe hangovers, but these were somewhat forgotten due to the amazing surroundings, cooked breakfast and great weather as we sailed down the coast. Before lunch we ...
Mljet National Park, Croatia kpel... at the Canons we ran into a few other girls from our boat and our party expanded. We jung out for awhile, took some fun pictures and headed back to the bar with the dart board, where I ate my second slice of pizza for the night. Walking back to our boat we passed a beach, and Kellum and I decided we would go for a quick swim before we went back to the boat and wentto sleep. So we did just that, fully clothed.

Since returning home we also learnt that Korcula is known by my Mother for a very positive reason, it is where a Jewish couple who now live in Durban (South Africa) hid and survived the Second World War. What a nice thing to find out!
... become invalid and your $1200 goes down the drain. Watching Dirty Dancing doesn't strip you of your masculinity. Life is all about "keeping the dream alive, bro". (Thanks Z!) P.S. Johnny: Happy Birthday for yesterday, dude. Ian: Hope you are enjoying your holiday home to the Motherland. Not sure if we will catch you, but we'll be arriving around August 16 if you're around? Auntie Ange: We heard you were heading home when ...
Korcula Town, Korcula, Croatia cc_world_tour... and cut in half - different, interesting, unusual. Lumbardo was our first sandy beach of the Croatian leg of our journey. Although it hurt my feet getting to and into the water at first, it is amazing how much I have come to love the pebble beaches. Obviously there are nice pebbles, small stones and just flat out spiky rocks but there are many advantages. No sand through your belongings or in your eyes if it gets windy ...
Korcula, Croatia leahandgreg... my great-grandfather so I joked with him that perhaps we were related. He said that almost everyone in that village is related in some way or another so we probably were. After studying a family tree that Uncle Louie had e-mailed to us, we realized that we were in fact related - third cousins (our great-grandfathers were brothers). Nedjelko only stays in Brijesta in the summer, otherwise he lives in Dubrovnik. His ...
Brijesta, Croatia thetembas... up here!" Then one said, "Why, what is up there?" and Tara replied "The top of course!" Strangely enough, they followed us up to the top for what would turn into a 3 day romance between Hilary and Simon, quite possibly the sweetest love story ever! The guys- Matt, Scott and Simon, bummed around with us the next 3 days, even catching the same bus back to Split with us. They were hilarious, comedian potential, which Tara enjoyed as ...
Dubrovnik, Croatia hsnyder... sea. But you can only go up there if you have a full meal (we were only looking for a drink). D'oh! We had a drink on one of the many plazas, instead. We each spent 5 euros on a glass of white wine. I'm glad I didn't get the red wine, which was 10 euros! Good thing the waiter warned me. Unbelievably expensive wine, even by North American standards. We had some dessert - chocolate lasagna and mixed fruit. I was disappointed because it's grape season ...
Dubrovnik, Croatia pwong... to be to good to be true. Hopefully they'll recognise the potential and tidy the place up. Similarly the wineries weren't quite what we were expecting, more of a small tin shed with a lady inside selling bottles without offering a tasting so we blew that idea off in favour of exploring a few more of the little towns scattered around the island. Some of these were exceptionally nice and we stopped to swim in a few of the nicer bays. All in all the trip ...
Korçula, Croatia natandkat... of. As we arrived on the bus we found out that our bags had gotten covered in wine. All the bags underneath the bus had managed to get covered somehow. Everything was soaking wet and we were not very cheerful about it. An annoying lady kept pestering us to stay in her room. We knew better this time and told her that if we didn't like it we would not be staying there. She crammed our bags in her tiny trunk and headed towards town. When we arrived at her home we were ...
