Just minutes after I parked, two other scooters arrived and parked in the middle of the right hand passage way that I'd just used to get to the spot - if I had arrived just a few minutes later there would have been no physical way to get my bike from the entrance to the free spot. ... in to our hotel and then went for a walk. We walked to St Marks Square and then out to the main inlet. We are in love with Venice already! What a beautiful place. We then walked into the back streets and found a little restaurant where we had dinner. It is a lot colder here then Chinque Terre so we're gonna have to pull the scarfs and beanies etc out again! ... Rialto Bridge, our correct stop; again, the GPS came in handy.

HISTORICAL REGATTA: We sure lucked out being here for this and arriving at the perfect time to see the beginning of the parade. Hundreds of people lined the waterway for the opening parade of the Regatta so we made a beeline to the hotel and quickly came back to see this.
