Travelling has its ups and downs continued... After 36 awesome hours in Shanghai we headed 2 hours west to a river town called Shozhoi. It was a mediocre day trip, which I would not recommend for anyone who visits China, but I'll fill you in just the same. Wednesday's and Thursday's I will be at school from 1-8:30 but will have some kind of lunch ordered for me. I also learned their will be ...

We were picked up by our guide for lunch, who took us to a very nice restaurant. The food was divine. We had a local pork dish, home-made tofu in chilli, an aromatic fried rice, and veg. This was followed by peanut ice-cream, which was not too sweet and quite refreshing. If nothing else the trip to China has been well worth it for the food.

After lunch we briefly stopped at the 1000 ...

... spoke English. As you do in these situations, the few Westerners set up a small communication network and shared any snippets of information we were able to glean from various sources. Apparently the Chinese also had no idea what was happening so we just stayed alert to ensure we didn't miss the gate. Luckily there was a break in the weather and we made it on to the plane. Ultimately the wait wasn't that bad but of course it was very boring.
