... motorcycles, scooters, bikes, and pedestrians. The light just turns green and you go. Driving is insane, there might as well not be any lanes painted on the road. Driving here is kind of like a cat, "if it fits, it sits", so "if it fits, it goes"... and sometimes not even if it fits it still goes. But the taxis are pretty cheap which is good.

... other side of town which is good in some ways at least I will be immersed in the local culture. Fortunately I do happen to bump into the landlady frequently and she can sure talk the hind leg off a mule, even when I don't understand and am quite unresponsive. She is really nice though and is kind of treating me like a son always checking up on how I am doing, and I really appreciate that.

... booked for me just opposite his company. It is cheap, cramped and a bit dirty, but at least I have a place where I can briefly escape from the masses of the great unknown outside while I adjust to the huge difference in culture and surroundings. I still feel uncomfortable walking into a restaurant by myself, knowing that I won't know where to sit, or what to order and what the procedure for paying is. You take all these things for granted at home.
