Day 43: Bolzano, Italy

... with you, you automatically think about how much it weighs, how log you will carry it, and how much is it worth to you. My life is carried on my back right now. Every map, piece of clothing, scrap of food, and souvenir. So I'd thought I'd share of my bag and what I'm currently carrying. About half of this is clothes. I also have some soap bottles for me and Sara (her bag is smaller so I carry a few extra thugs), food, some cords for charging things, and an extra pair of ...

Day two Corvara

... Just to add to Finlay's perspective of day two. I did have a test drive and yes I was worried about running over cyclists. changing gears was also challening. The roads are so narrow and so winding it was like playing frogger but dodging MAMILs. After my relaxing drive the girls and I thought it might be safer to catch the bus to our next stop. In the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology, Bolzano there is a rather shrivelled, mangled mummy called Otzi the 5000 year old Iceman, living in 3300 BCE. He is called Otzi because he was found in the Otzal Alps in 1991 by a German (Helmut and Erika Simon) couple out hiking, on the border between Austria and Italy, just a little on the Italian side though. At first they thought he was just a unfortunate ...

... to Bolzano (if you are speaking Italian) or Bozen (if you are speaking Austrian). As we are still in Italy I will use Bolzano. don't know why they don't just decide on one name for the place but this double-naming is quite common in this part of the world. Although we are in Italy, it would appear that most people speak Austrian and the architecture looks more Austrian. We even had a meal tonight in a brewery that was much ...
