We left of for a small village about 50 km from Vaga, very flat up to the last 7 Kms where we went up in 7 hairpin bends to high in the mountains. We did about half of the route, because otherwise we would have ended up on the other side of Norway where we started our holiday (close to Olden) and stopped on the way back near a Hytte called Sognefellethytte and walked into the land towards the glacier. We were only stopped by a river which if we had been daredevils, we could have crossed jumping from stone to stone, but didn't do so. But we were very close to ...
... the room. The soup was excellent though and we still had some Cava for the evening from our tax-free trip from Denmark to Norway – unfortunately the car wine cellar is empty now. Back at our home, we had a good bottle of bubbles with some cheese and salami produced at the farm where we eat. It was excellent.

Like everything in Norway it is not cheap and just for this little room it has cost me £90!! Once unloaded I head off down the town in search of food. On walking through the town I passed a wonderful wooden church and then got chatting to some very friendly sheep and their very young ...
Ringebu district in Norway has a family connection in that Avis' grandfather's adoptive father was born in this area. His name was Peder Moen and he adopted Einar Moen (Avis' grandfather) when Einar was very young. The Moen family goes back some generations in this area so we were interested in the history here. Ringebu is quite close to Lillihammer so some Olympic events were held here in 1994.
