... there was an amazing breeze and two the panoramic views were outstanding. I could see the park and the two side of the peninsula with white beaches, large bouldered rocks and turquoise ocean waves crashing onto the shores. "Life is a climb, but it is worth the view" Today, the view was spectacular! 15 minutes of soaking it all in and enjoying the refreshing breeze I made my way back down and set off to the beach I had passed along the way for a well deserved swim ...

Our first day in Malacca was spent wandering the UNESCO heritage area seeing the Stadthuys, St Francis Xavier's Church and the replica of Melaka's Sultanate Palace (which is also a museum). We also walked down the popular Jonker Street lined with shops and restaurants. We took refuge from the heat for a bit in a mall we passed and took the opportunity to do a bit of shopping. ... pagoda. We walked round the impressive temple before we caught another funicular railway (claimed to be the first in Malaysia) up to he hug statue of Kuan Yin. The bronze statue stands at 30.2m tall and dominates the view. All the designs are incredibly intricate and would have taken ages to complete.
