... First stop was to see manatee. There were plenty to see but the water being murky in color I couldn't get good photos.
From there we went to Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge (http://www.fws.gov/merrittisland/). We viewed a nature video on the variety of turtle in the area, etc. The attendant told us they were releasing endangered turtles back into the ocean and said we could participate. What we experienced was so exciting.
First things first. An additional note to last nights post.
I got up to brush my teeth after I finished writing and discovered that Alex and Hayley had actually arrived back! My timing was pretty off though as I was met in the hallway by a very drunk Miss Rowe who squeaked happily to see me and hugged me. What's wrong with that I hear you cry? This drive was long and straight. Mile after Mile of wooded hills and valleys as we passed through Virginia and North Carolina. Passing umpteen civil war battlefields, Richmond the confederate capital and the Stonewall Jackson memorial gave us a real sense of history.
