    ... like a ski lift) up the hill to the Germania monument, built in 1871 for the reunification of Germany then walked the 5kms down the hill. Had a drink, then went shopping & back to the boat for lunch.

    The next part of he Rhine is known for its castles, they were amazing, the cloud then started to move in so went inside for coffee & cake, like we needed more food.

    Got a haircut, really impressed & only €18.

    ... over to Wash World and did laundry. Getting bad weather news from Wacken. They are experiencing quite a bit of rain. We went from 40 degree heat and no rain to 20 degrees and lots of rain! On the ICE train to Hamburg now and then a few more trains to Bad Bramstedt. WACKEN STARTS TOMORROW!!!!! ...

    ... I was reminded that driving that fast one must remain very alert. One must watch the rear-view mirror as much as ahead. It’s especially important to watch the rear-view mirror when passing another car, that’s when the really fast cars can come up surprisingly quickly. Before you can really see a car, flashing headlights signal that’s you’d better move over fast. And the general rules of the road in Germany ...

    ... Once we got back to the train station, we had a few minutes to spare and Glenn shared a wiener schnitzel with Linda and Barbara. I bought a pretzel. After the train ride, we went back to the hotel. We stopped at a Starbucks in the train terminal and Glenn bought me a Starbucks Germany Mug.

    ... first night here in a place called Maxim (not sure about spelling) which was fun, there is a picture of us together that will hopefully be coming soon. Other than that, we will be touring Heidelberg tomorrow which is about an hour bus ride from us. Stay tuned for pictures of that! Well it is about 2 in the morning here now and I have to get up at 8am, so I will update you guys again soon!
