    Pleasant and Appropriate

We stayed at Fave Hotel in Seminyak for 3 days but extended our stay for another day due to an annoying illness flu type that I had and was in bed for 2 days.

Dispute that we both enjoyed the clean, comfy, friendly hotel with a range of films on at night, tastey breakfast and dart board that we used one evening.

There were shops, a beach, food places, live music and a large supermarket/ shopping centre near by.

The only down fall we felt with this hotel was the pool was very small and only had 4 loungers which were always full.

I would totally recommend this hotel to travellers. As this was our first trip to Bali I didn't know what to expect, and was a little apprehensive as it had some unfavourable reviews on TripAdvisor. But we found it fantastic! The service is AMAZING. From the desk staff to the porters to the bar staff, everyone went out of their way to help, and many didn't even hang around to get a tip after their service! It was great. The room was fairly large and very clean. We had a balcony room so we were over the street, so admittedly it can be loud at night time........but generally we are party people and were probably part of the noise for other guests on most nights :) The live music venues on this street are amazing! So the noise was really not that bothersome to us. And for the price we paid per night, we couldn't have asked for anything more. We were extremely satisfied and would definitley stay again. It was in a great area for our kind of holiday and the price can't be beaten. One comment may be that it wouldn't be the best place for a family holiday, as there is a lot of partying going on around the hotel and it can be noisy. Having never stayed anywhere else in Bali I wouldn't know what to recommend, but I imagine one of the more upscale resort areas would have more kid friendly activities available. We just enjoyed as a couple on this occasion, so it was great for us :)

Bali Bali Bali, oh where to begin...Well we arrived at the airport to utter madness and noise from taxi drivers trying to get custom! After many taxi drivers had offered us their services, we finally got a driver who said it would cost us 200,000RP (£10) to get to our hotel..We thought we was getting a good deal until we arrived at the hotel …

... even as it looks rather incongruous, sitting there slowly growing soft in the thick humidity.

Before tourists arrived in the Bali area, about 30 years ago, the entire island was a farming island. They farmed seaweed! And, this is still something that most people still do, at least to some degree, although this is part of the culture that seems to be fading away. Sons inherit their father's area of sea ...

... rest out. It was hilarious! We wandered the streets for a couple more hours looking in cute little shops before we made our way back to the temple for the dance. The Kecak Fire & Trance Dance was difficult to understand because there was very little speaking but it apparently followed some complicated love story (according to the program). There were about 100 men that sat around the fire in a circle and chanted different tunes that added to the story while ...

... monkey forest and 100's of monkeys to explore Ubud. It's a really nice town, yes it's touristy and it does get annoying after being asked if you want a taxi for the 100th time but there is a charm to the place and the people were so friendly. Everyone we passed said hello. The choice of restaurants and cafe's was wonderful and the standards so high.

The buildings are beautiful and you can just imagine how much nicer it would have been before tourism! ...
