Storgt 82 Bodø, Nordland, North Norway, Norway, 8200, 7560-2000
... centre with centres of higher education and the site of northern Norway's defense HQ. It is a pretty place and quite modern. This is not by design but thanks to the German Luftwaffe which destroyed 70 percent of the buildings in 1940.

Det Nasjonale Flymuseum (The Norwegian Avaition Museum) is a must visit if you are an aircraft buff. The museum is quite new and has quite an extensive collection of aircraft including a ...

Bodø, North Norway, Norway sinilintu... come across as cheap in anyway, except for what is generally perceived of the location within the ship. We were settled in by 10:30am, leaving us with 1.5 hours to freely move about the ship and on land prior to the scheduled departure at noon. Initial explorations were positive; all public areas of the ship were nice, most of which were on decks 5, 8 and 9. All the important locations were sussed out - restaurant, cafe, shop, laundry, bar, outdoor jaccuzis (no, we didn't use them ...
Bodø, North Norway, Norway v1213... Mikey's apartment, has also been very nice and often gives us rides to town in his turquoise 1967 Mustang convertible. Lucky for us, he is pretty excited and curious about Americans (and their cars) and can help us translate the Norwegian language into English when we really need it, like when trying to read directions for cooking. He also has a big screen TV and the game Guitar Hero, which has provided plenty of entertainment. The weather here, like the scenery, is ...
Bodø, Norway jazzoboe... is gorgeous, staying in the 60's during the day and 50's at night, and right now there is a lot of sunshine. We're surrounded by lots of trees and greenery and from some points on campus have a beautiful view out over some fjords. I haven't gotten a chance to explore the city yet, but that's part of the plan for today or tomorrow. My new friend Mikey from Utah is living on the ...
Bodø, Norway jazzoboe... mountains coupled by the water was breath-taking. Yet another memory I won't forget. Later that day people got to take cannoe's and kayacs out on the water. After that little adventure, a gang of us decided to walk to the waterfall. Once there we decided, "why not climb it, we are afterall in the artic circle." It was a great climb, me in rain boots. I loved it...It was one of those bonding expirences...just the whole ...
Bodø, Norway tinga... front of the Cathedral for one hour just staring at it... it was that pretty. We went on a tour of it and found out it would cost about $800 US to get married there, so I'll keep that in mind. We also got to go see the Crown Jewels and the Archbishops Castle! It was amazing! Here we went to Burger King for lunch... where I was excited for a chicken sandwhich... only to be disappointed to find out my chicken sandwhich was covered in ...
Bodø, Norway julieflickner3... beach. It was really relaxing and cool. Anything that happened in the arctic was about 20 times cooler because it was in the arctic, so Julie and I had a great time saying 'we are the only Julie and Kristin to ever walk in the arctic together! We are making history!' and things like that. The phrase 'because we're in the arctic' would be the determining factor in about 800 activities that would follow in the next few days ...
Bodø, Norway korvette923... a minute to gain perspective, because the walls are so high. It was a house, 150 miles north of the Arctic Circle, at the dead end of a two-mile-deep fjord. Why was it here? Then a greater surprise -- as we continued to turn and the searchlight moved on, we could see lights on in the house -- someone was at home. Amy and I have a tradition when we visit places we like. Recalling the end of the movie Groundhog Day, we'll stand arm ...
Bodo, Norway oneyearaway... Woody and me attempted to go sledging but found that we just sank into the foot deep snow. That night we went out to see the stars which were incredible. CK told us about the amazing northern lights he'd seen though unfortunately we didn't see any. The next morning we had a typical Norwegian breakfast of wholegrain bread, roll mop herrings, cheese and strong coffee. I'd never been a fan of pickled fish before but I became a convert on ...
