We arrived late at night to Monterey airport. 'Magic Ed' met us there. He is a bit of a legend around El Potrero Chico for having put up a lot of the rock climbing routes there. We piled in his car and set off. He told stories about this and that, including one about how driving along these roads reminded him of a friend he had when he was younger that was blind but they taught him to drive. We crossed the border on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 11:25 am, much later than our original plan. We crossed at the bridge in Pharr, and have since decided we will use the Hidalgo bridge next time. It is closer and less expensive. We were delayed in Texas for three months due to our accident in Dallas. Now the motorhome is fixed and we are continuing our winter adventure.
