I was really overdue my holidays, finally getting to take it in October and I just signed up to two weeks of not doing much in Turkey with a couple of friends in a group. For me though not doing much isn't my cup of tea so I took every chance to re-live my old Turkey memories, from food, sights, sea, dancing and ahem, yes the men, again :)

I have to assume that it does, that the number of tourists who travel through from cruise liners and package holidays enjoy the ability to simply relax away from home, thus bringing in vital income to the area. The people in Bodrum and the people from Kos have a friendly cooperation in tourism, and both ports are full of sailing boats coming and going to both directions. Both communities share friendly feelings towards each other.

Some of my birthday was spent underwater doing the PADI Open Water Dive Course which involved staying in the water for an hour and going to a depth of 8 metres (25 ft) It took a bit of getting used to, trying to adjust the buoyancy to stay down and being able to rise up slowly as well as remembering to breathe! It was great fun and we look forward to seeing coral and more colourful fish the further west we go.

They can suggest the calmest anchorages, take the helm, raise the sails, drop the anchor, rig the windsurfer, clean the boat, provision, cook and serve the meals and still have time to entertain you. The crew have their own separate quarters and at least one speaks a second language.
