Nach einer langen Busfahrt sind wir in Palenque angekommen und waren froh im Hostel noch schnell eine Suppe zu essen und dann ins Bett zu fallen. Reisen kann auch anstrengend sein :-)
Palenque ist weder schoen noch haesslich, aber Ausgangspunkt fuer die gleichnamigen Ruinen. Leider konnten wir uns am naechsten Tag nicht aufraffen noch mehr Mayatempel anzuschauen und so koennen wir euch keine ...
Welcome to the Jungle
... and travelers visiting the ruins. It is more or less in the middle of the jungle, although the town lies only a few kilometers away. Most of the accomodations are cabanas, and there is only one main restaurant that provides food by day and a bar with drum and fire spectacles by night. It was comfortable, but with so little to do it might seem frighteningly similar to the movie Groundhog Day if you were to stay there for an extended period of time...
