... County Hall in London for £738. We cancelled this booking for another Travelodge, London Central Kings Cross Royal Scot Travelodge for £555. No only is this motel £183 cheaper, but it is close to the underground, and very close to where we drop off our car. Quite a bit of upside and little downside. The downside being that the Premier Inn was just across The Thames from Westminster. Tomorrow it's ...

... Ray and Joan are regulars. They have lived here for 41 years. Ray is nearly 90 and Joan 88. The staff were excellent and meals were tailored to our requirements. Forget the menu. The food and company were great and we had a lovely time catching up on old times. Joan is/was a talented sculpturess, and also wrote the books "Norwich at War" and "Norwich at Peace" ...

It got up to over 30 today and tomorrow is tipped to be the hottest day on record, about 35. Another good ...

... another cross stitch, with a Norfolk theme, and here we were successful. After that we drove along the coast road, through Cromer to Horsey Wind Pump. This is a very pretty place. Boats moor along this channel which leads to the Norfolk Broads. We sat and had a cup of tea, taking in the scene, then enjoyed an ice cream whilst strolling along the channel. An ideal way to pass an hour or two. We decided that we would look ...

Another Great Day in Norfolk

... but we had coats and umbrellas, so we stayed up top. The bird life on The Broads is plentiful and the scenery, particularly the thatched cottages, very pretty. After our cruise we drove to Great Yarmouth. This is either a poor man's Las Vegas or the old style St.Kilda on steroids. It has numerous amusement arcades, tacky lights, fast food eateries, mini trains, horse drawn buggies, roller coaster rides, an amusement pier, etc. It was still raining so we merely ...
