Yay for class again - my this is rough! But, at least it's only about 5 more days of class before the end of the semester...my this has gone by fast! After class, I had to forego my siesta (actually I can't tell you the last time I took one - I need to be taking advantage of these things, sheesh!) and pack my bag for Morocco, woooo hoooo! Toby was kind enough to lend me her bag...somehow I thought a backpack was probably a little too small to travel with, but all I could take was a carry-on, ...
Marrakech, Morocco dizzybg924It was veryyyyyy difficult, but we succeeded at waking up at 6 AM! We ran quickly to get another little hunny bun thing and then got on the bus for Essaouira! I wish I could tell you what happened on the way to Essaouira, what sights we saw, etc. but I really couldn't - we were knocked out from the second we got on the bus! It was about a 4 hour drive so when we stopped for a potty break, the driver asked us if we were alright, because we were definitely knocked out the whole time! We needed ...
Essaouira, Morocco dizzybg924We got to sleep in! No excursions today! Boy do I miss the days where I sleep in - I don't think I've done that for a number of years. Well, actually, I'm lying - I do that over the holidays when Mommy and Daddy are nice enough to let me sleep in to the wee hours of the afternoon when they know I'm exhausted after exams. Thanks Mom & Dad! After our sleep session, we walked to a "Grilleria" as recommended by Mustafa. It was sooooo good! I had a pizza, it was like a flat bread pizza, wonder...
Marrakech, Morocco dizzybg924When Mustafa asked us the time we wanted to wake up on Monday we told him around 11, he told us that he set something up for us at 9 AM, how rude! It's okay, he was trying to help. So, we got up and boarded a bus to go find some camels. I really wanted to do it! So we took this long ride out to the desert...yes, I said the desert, and suddenly we see all these camels lined up with cloths over their humps. Oh my, this isn't a padded camel that we're going to go around a merry-go-round, this is...

... And I
watched them every evening as a kid! Bah.
Shane and I went
out in the later afternoon for a drink on one of the terrace rooftops
overlooking the main square. Stalls were just being set up for dinner that
night, tarpaulins and strapping, seating and big pots. We went to get dad and
came back out for a big dinner that ended up costing us quite cheap. Olives
were great, fresh bread, eggplant and couscous. The prawns we got weren’t the
best but ...
From the fun flats of Marrakech...we made our way to the High Atlas mountains for well...mountains of magnificent hiking and views.
Jebel Toubkal stands at 4200m above sea level and at that is the highest most point in northern Africa and also a bit of a mission! We made it up the mighty mountain in a few days and did some sleeping, sun burning and Scrabble in there as well. An absolutely incredible adventure!
Back down and all set to embark on a road trip to Fez!

... of it is: I got sick. Dehydration leading to nausea leading to we’re home by 2:30 to get into that cold pool. Susan had flashbacks of intravenous bags. On the countryside: there are more donkeys that vehicles; the poverty is grinding; the people are just as friendly. I haggled twice: once unsuccessfully for three necklaces and once successfully for a fossil. On that, the starting bid was 800 Durhams (about $110Cdn); I ...
Marrakesh, Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz, Morocco thedicksons... brighter than the sky on a clear day. Unlike
the traditional Moroccan decoration that is so overwhelmingly detailed,
the Majorelle Garden was begun by a French artist and then taken over
by Yves Saint Laurent who confronts you in boldly painted pots, a
rainbow of rare plants and amongst other species – a striped bamboo,
that looks like it could only have been drawn up by a graphic designer.

uma pequena tempestade de areia...toca a correr dali para fora e rápido
antes que ela chegue até nós....descer é fácil é só correr para chegar
a nossa "haima"(tenda Tuareg).
