... I eagerly pressed the button:

Hostess: Japanese I couldn’t understand

Brandon: “Konichiwa! Hello. Reservation for Brandon-san.”

Hostess: More Japanese I couldn’t understand

Then the door opens. Kind of like in the Wizard of Oz when they reach the Emerald City. We’re ushered into a lobby and to an elevator for the 2nd floor. (Sure there are stairs, but why walk when you can ride?) At the top ...
Chiba, Kanto, Japan bethere... and "colors" using colored pencil crayons for the lesson. To begin, I would teach the Student the name of each color by holding up one of the colored crayons, saying the name of the color and then having the Student repeat what I said. I would continue this process for about 10 minutes or until I feel the student is comfortable with all of the colors. After going over the color names, I would ask the Student to choose his/her ...
Chiba, Kanto, Japan mimiama... limited by the fact that its city centre is stuck on an island, Hong Kong is surrounded by mountains and a bay, Beijing and Shanghai's development seems so unnaturally modern due to everything having seemingly sprung up in a flash and the major South American cities of Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro simply don't have that much money flowing into them to warrant a spectacular city scape. Kirilee and I ventured up to the observation deck of the Tokyo ...
Tokyo, Kanto, Japan mattersdorff... collection is extensive and touchable, there are a lot of interactive exhibits and the setting is modern. My only gripes would be the lack of representation given to the modern steam era, although I gather that there is a lot of that equipment around the country and the absence of English on the railway timeline display. Despite the crowds we managed to enjoy our visit, lasting at least 2 hours, especially the main engine hall, mini-train garden and Shinkansen viewing ...
Maihama, Japan v1213... was borrowing money from Hideko and Subacko and it was bothering me so I lent him money myself. Its something people always tell you you shouldn't do, but in a year, I've voluntarily offered one other person money when Abbey National's overseas department broke down and wouldn't give any customers money, and she repaid it back. I would like someone else to do that for me, so I lent him a small sum that would see him by. He repaid it later, to ...

Tokyo, Japan roromaka... The hot spas were in the Edo period, it was a very Japanese style. We sat in round wooden tubs out in the Japanese garden. Lazed in the rock gardens. Inside, there were large pools, jet spas and a milky bath. Before and after the hot spas, you shower yourself sitting on stools. After showering and the hot spa ...
Tokyo, Japan beyond_the_seaBangkok to Tokyo was a five hour flight and we lost an additional 2 hours with the time change, but we arrived safely. We are excited for this last leg of our adventure as Wendy has never been to Tokyo and we have plans to get together with many friends. We had dinner last night with our friends Emi and Hissa at a izakaya, the Japanese equivalent of a pub with tapas-style food. We got to try a lot of new things and it was ...
Tokyo, Japan neilandwendy... them live and **** would spoil my whole ideal of them. Before I could make up my mind on walked Trent, my jaw fell and it stayed like that for the rest of the night. I felt like such a 16 year old just staring at my idol for the first time with my naked eyes. (those are the eyes I use when I want to see people naked) A quickly snapped out of my adolescent "moment" as soon as I began to realise what song was playing. Wish, ironically one of the first NIN songs I heard and the ...
