... wasn’t too much to see on Torcello,but it was nice to get away from the crowds for a bit. This pretty much summed up my day travelling around the islands. Oh, with dinner I had Bellini, a lovely peach flavoured Italian drink.

... realized it was fireworks seemingly right on top of us. We couldn’t spot them anywhere and they slowly died down. Opening the front door I was not greeted by the usual smell of mustiness until you open up the windows, but a smell I couldn't be sure of. The mystery was soon solved when I went to the kitchen and the floor was soaking wet with broken glass every where. ... A short walk took us to Fondamente Nove and the vaporetto to Burano. It called in at Murano on the way but we decided we'd seen enough glassblowing whilst on tour (and the island is not as attractive as Burano) and onto Burano.
