... Venice you don't get the feel for the Italian people but that I got a glimpse of it on Burano and the sense of community that is so very much the Italian way. The main island is a tourist mecca and I have found that interactions can be perceived as being rude. I'm not sure if this is the case or if the short and sharp interchange is just the way it is.It was easy taking the ferry for the short ride to Torcello; wanting to see the 7th century basilica, but unfortunately it was ...

I'm looking forward to the bus tomorrow so I can catch up on some sleep!! Tomorrow, all roads lead to ...

After a gorgeous sunset I spent a few hours admiring the city in the dark, much of it even prettier when lit up. Sadly I was able to take just one picture of St Mark’s square before my camera decided it had had enough Venice for the day and ran out of battery. Back at the campsite I met my host, Maurizio, a friendly former fencer and current fencing instructor. Grand total expenditure ...

... why he is a master glass blower. Every few streets I would come across an "artist" thinking they were the next Michaelangelo as they sketched various buildings and gondolas. Some were not bad, others.... may want to try asking if anyone 'wants fries with that'.

One thing to add about today was the weather. A few of us had looked at the forecast and rain was expected. Well, we had rain, just not in Venice. It was so hot that I think I may ...
