... These trains run between St Moritz and the Italian town of Tirano where I stayed on last years winter trip.
Onwards and upwards to the summit of the pass. The summit of Bernina is at 2330m above sea level and is in my opinion one of the best view points in the whole of the Alps. As per usual I parked my bike up on the rock and took several photos of it with the mountains as backdrop.

Stayed around the campsite throughout the morning reading
a good book. A short local walk in the afternoon but managed to catch a bus
that took us right back to our start point rather than taking us further up the
valley side. Gave up in disgust, had a cup of tea and carried on with the good
Note from Val: Today we took a guided tour into the mountains east of the town of Obergurgl (up the Gaisbergferner glacier valley) to search for garnets. We were well equipped for the task, with our hammer and chisel borrowed from our hotel. Our guide, Monika, was very knowledgeable about the area, and once she showed us what to look for we were able to spot and collect quite a few nice garnet samples. For ...

Ischgl and walked down through the “Walk of Lyrics”. This was very enjoyable,
especially the two suspension bridges.

the valley through Landeck on to Imst, checking in to the ACSI site Camping
