They hatch in September and then leave for Africa, but one of the fisherman (who was also selling blue crab meals  from his boat at the mouth of the river) was able to bring "Sultan", a 100 year old  loggerhead turtle to the surface by feeding him the blue crab.  Sultan stays around  all year, as do a few of the other turtles, so we were able to see him up close and get some pictures of him.  We had a scenic ride in the boat through the reed canals and got out to view some late ...

... with a sauna, massage and hot stones for about an hour. We cut it thin on time but made it back to get the bus to Marmaris of which we arrived at about 10pm that evening. For us, Marmaris was simply a stop over so we could catch a ferry the next morning.

Accommodation was scarce with a number of options only allowing 3-4 people in a private room. Hence, we had to pay a little more at 15.00 euro each to stay ...

... steeds aan opgravingen gedaan, er is nog mooi een kerk te zien, het amfitheater, het badhuis en de haven. En als je op het terras staat met het uitzicht op de haven, het estuarium en de zee doet je even vermoeden dat je meer dan 2000 jaar terug bent in de tijd, vooral als je kijkt naar je stoffige sandalen, zo zou het geweest kunnen zijn! Daarna varen we langs de rots tombes, er moeten zo’n150 stuks zijn, maar die liggen mogelijk meer ...

... bad, at least compared to what we are used to. Public toilets are not very good, we never knew whether there would be toilet paper or not so always carried our own. we had to pay at least one Turkish Lira at many public tiolets we visited.

Meals and drinks were very cheap, as was alot of the shopping at towns we visited. there are some places I would love to visit again, though if I was to come back I wouldn't do this type of tour again as it is all tourist and ...
