We later walked through the narrow streets up and down the hill and soaked up the atmosphere. And we ended up near a Roman temple that was well -preserved.
Pula made a nice day visit and we're glad we did it that way. It's a larger city with a lot going on, but we are enjoying our quiet fishing village up the coast.

... a visit to the local tourist medical clinic to get them to check-out a 3 day old gash I'd managed to inflict on my elbow. It cost me just $35 to have some minor remedial surgery done by the stunningly beautiful young doctor and a phone consultation with a surgeon at his home. A bargain! I'm under instruction to get the dressing and bit of internal packing ...
... wifi did not work, the laundry was too expensive and too wet to get to the shower block!! Town was ok but put to shame by some of the other lovely ones we have seen. Tourist book said it was jewel of the Istria coast but think we need an up to date book! Resulted to hand washing and even had to put plug on the heater to get it ...
... but the riding abilities and confidence of the of group members are more varied, so we are getting strung out over several kilometres in a very short time, meaning we have to use lots of corner markers and keep regrouping, which is frustrating for the faster riders and inevitably it leads to corner marking mistakes and the tail-end-Charlie of the day accidentally getting in front of one or two ...
