... and took a taxi back there to make a one night stay at a beach hut, well worth it and my mom and Katarina fell in love with the place as well. On the 28th Tim's parents arrived as well. Together we all made a day trip to a waterfall and a spice plantation. The ride out to the waterfall was bumpy on little roads through forest and rivers and once we arrived we had to hike up to the waterfall. Beautiful place where you could jump in and swim right under the water fall. Once we ...

    Shanti Shanti,
Things have a way of working themselves out here, it's strange but true, definitely much more apparent than anywhere else I've been. People are genuinely nice and helpful, and there is always something to remind you that it's all gonna be OK, even if you are worrying about stuff like money or future plans, and as beginner travelers, we do have days like that every once in a while.

... access to a hot buffet (IN-credible), amazing desserts, a Charlie-stand of treats and unlimited tea. All in five-star gorgeousness. Next time I come to Mumbai, I am living it up big time.

On the 9th, Thomas left India behind to return to the land of Oz, where he would not be getting an Australian steak for a fiver. Once again I was on my lonesome and I spent one last night in Mumbai before catching an early train to Goa. In a few days I would get to see my mum ...

Fish Curry in Goa during the Monsoon

I spent a week on the deserted beaches of Goa, mostly in Arambol Beach, a place with a handful of sole travelers, long term stayers and hippies left over from the previous high season or possibly even from the sixties. It was pouring down when I arrived. Most of the guesthouses, restaurants and shops were closed for the monsoon season, all wrapped in orange and blue plastic tarp for ...
