... What is the meaning of enjoyment?" We gave a quick explanation thinking he was struggling with an English word in the book. Nodding his head in the way of someone quite wise he then asked, “Is enjoyment extrovert or introvert?” This lead to a very interesting debate about the nature of happiness and the gentleman said he had been listening with interest to our conversation and wanted to explore this with ...

I spent a week on the deserted beaches of Goa, mostly in Arambol Beach, a place with a handful of sole travelers, long term stayers and hippies left over from the previous high season or possibly even from the sixties. It was pouring down when I arrived. Most of the guesthouses, restaurants and shops were closed for the monsoon season, all wrapped in orange and blue plastic tarp for ...

... other items which looked like a random collection of things bought over the last decade. We followed the ambiguous sign for Arambol...very ambiguous as the road disintegrated into a collection of potholes held together with old tarmac, which lead to a T junction between a few houses. Obviously we took the wrong turning, but this did mean that we rode alongside a large black-faced monkey who was running on top of a low wall next to us. The road fizzled out, and a man getting onto ...
