After a day and night spent relaxing with the people we had met, we decided to hire scooters and go for a day trip along the cost. Luckily the night before we had met an Indian guy called Akash, who was one of the funniest people we had ever met and seemed to no more about western culture then we did. So when we set off he became our unoffical tour guide. They thought of hiring ...

We headed out early to explore the market. It took a long walk along Anjuna beach until we reached the market nestled between the bars and restaurants. The market was big, hot and busy. This doubt that had crept in with the blanket of crowd, continued for most of ...

... went for a nice swim at the beach and checked out the bustling Mapusa market. we eventually passed out at around 7pm because we only had like 1 hours sleep the night before. From my impressions of the first day here in Goa it gives me the vibe of being at a Psychedelic festival, mixed with Poverty and Slums, all in a tropical setting and a mixture of Gypsy's, Tourists and all sorts of others, i think there will be some adventures to come...

Fish Curry in Goa during the Monsoon

A travel blog entry by sam.lee on Jun 20, 2011

I spent a week on the deserted beaches of Goa, mostly in Arambol Beach, a place with a handful of sole travelers, long term stayers and hippies left over from the previous high season or possibly even from the sixties. It was pouring down when I arrived. Most of the guesthouses, restaurants and shops were closed for the monsoon season, all wrapped in orange and blue plastic tarp for ...
