The western side of Florida is essentially one big swamp. Parts of it have been reclaimed to make fancy gated communities, but the treasures are in the state parks. In these we saw alligators, manatee, fish, lots of birds, deer and a bunch of other wildlife.

We got lucky with the weather... It was supposed to rain a lot but so far, it has been pretty nice. We stayed in St. Petersburg for a night and are enjoying some beach/pool time in Naples.

It's pretty hot and humid here and we decided to rent a cabin for a few nights... sleeping in the tent is not really a treat :)

... and all very pretty. They look like over sized beach houses and mostly have nice yards with old trees and palms. We walked down 5th avenue to look at all the expensive restaurants and stores. One of the restaurants was named Bice and after closer inspection was the same restaurant as the Bice in Montreal. There was a store called The Wind in the Willows which was beautiful and filled with handmade ornaments and cute but useless stocking stuffers. I think i could ...

... bathroom after replacing the baseboards and door moldings around the house. In other words, I'm looking into a day camp for Mecca in Naples for June.
