... petting a giant tortoise! In the evening we headed back to Oceanside and had pizza then a stroll along the beach. Today (Friday) we spent the day on the U.S. Midway air craft Museum. ... and we spent a good 4 hours wandering around the park, this included a safari bus around the 7.3 kmē parkland.
Highlight of the day was watching the cheetah run. The cat walks out with his buddy, a golden lab, who chases the hare first, just to remind the watching cat what to do. The cheetah then takes its turn, quite amazing to see a cheetah's speed so close.
Hopefully the posted photos speak louder than ...
... whale were in the harbor, laying on the docks and posing for pictures...they were sure cute and noisy. They were in much better condition than the ones I have previously seen in San Francisco...They didn't have barnacles and/or propeller marks on them. ... the Urban Jungle, the Outback, Elephant Odyssey and Africa Rocks. We saw rhinos, koalas, wombats, kangaroos, elephants, lions (a male and female sleeping next to each other – very cool), some condors (look like vultures to us), camels, eagles, leopards, zebras, jaguar, a snow leopard—even a python. ... through the hotel no one even noticed us! We took the elevator up to the hotel and just walked around. It was difficult to amagine that this was the same Spot. Now instead of just beautiful white sand on the Pacific side...it looked more like a Hawaiian resort. Even the Whale Watch bar was now transformed into a modern looking bar. The view was still just as beautiful....but now the actual bar was on the other ...
