... braking on my bike I was still grabbing the brakes much of the way down this magical pass.

Finally the cliffhanging section gives way to a more gentle system which makes its way through trees and forest area and gently eases its way into a massive valley between two mighty high mountains.

26.10.14 Left Schwangau today and drove through Austria with snow all around us and to the Waldheim Hotel in the Valle Di Casies in the heart of the Dolomites. There is snow all around us but the roads are clear. It is a really picturesque area, not much to do except admire the scenery. The fountains are all sealed up for winter to protect them, but are still running now. The local candy is the gold foil covered Lindt chocolate and there is a statue of a man standing on a giant chocolate. Outside the shops there are wrought iron signs signifying what the shops are, they are very old ...

... chillier then the high 60s in Innsbruck. After lunch we went up to the top and Matt and me did a short hike to the peak of the mountain. It was so pretty but we were both freezing so we didn't stay up to long. After the mountain Matt and me went and walked around old town. It was a very historic area, with lots of shops and cafÚs. We had some coffee before heading back to the hotel for a short break. Later ...
