... I certainly didn't pack for this weather!! Unfortunately, Becky has a nasty case of Sinusitis and is feeling really poorly :( Tim, Ewan and I headed into town on Tuesday morning to do a bit of sight seeing. We visited the Archeology museum to see Otzi - the 5000 year old man who was perfectly preserved in ice and found 15 years ago! It was really creepy... His hands and feet looked so normal and he still had skin on! Then we went and sat on a grass area by the river and ate ...
... the shopping in Cortina is just fabulous and not a "chain" store to be found. Really worth the drive to this super chic resort.
The one downside is that it is crowded. We are in high season and German school Holiday is going on now. Add to that the fact that the Dolomites have not had this much snow since 1951. Minor complaint and it sounds like things will clear out next week.

The shows in Brixen however did not reflect the niceness of our accommodation. I have never met ruder children!! Oh well - I guess they're teenagers!
We had a trip up to Ploser, approx 2500m high and the views were stunning!
Off to Innsbruck on Thursday where we will be joined by boyfriends, girlfriends and family!! So ...
... through it. There isn't much to do here apart from walk up to the Schloss on top of the hill at one end of town. But luckily, the weather has been kind to us and on Sunday there was blasting sunshine!
We met with a friend, David Taylor, who also works for Vienna's English Theatre and went to dinner with him. His knowledge of Austria is incredible and he has enough anecdotes that could last for days! A very nice evening had by all.

We boarded for 4 days straight, we were sore but there was no way we were missing a day to rest. We are all determined to return to Austria again and are already planning our next trip.
What could have been potentially a very depressing, boring holiday turned into something spontaneous and awesome!!
