As regards our Romanian holiday we have booked our accommodation, a real mixture of smart(ish) hotels, wayside B&Bs and self catering. We have the outline of a route-around 4000 kms in total taking us over the Transalpina and the Transfagarasan via a few castles all the way to the Danube Delta on the Black Sea and back via the Iron Gate Gorge,Belgrade and Zargreb.

We came in April 15 after a 6 hour drive and showered, ate and then slept. The next couple of days are always spent the same way - unpacking, doing laundry, grocery shopping, all those things we must do just to get to the point where we can relax.
