Another beautiful day. Sunny 78 degrees on the island of Rhodes. We travel to Lindos half way down the island. To see the Acropolis were Paul spoke to the Greeks. A long climb to the top with a view to forever. Just outstanding. Back to the boat early to catch some sun by the pool.

I am going to upload a couple of pics from yesterday on Myconos to give you an idea of the beauty here.

Davo and Janet
Rhodes, Dodecanese, Greece bluemesa... recommened a place from a local, which turned out to be ok. Honestly, we've had better Mousakka in San Francisco, but the Greek Salad is pretty amazing. Who knew Cucumbers, tomatos, feta and olive oil could taste so good? We've tried to make our own using exactly the same ingredients, but somehow they manage to do it better.
Now we're off to the one-and-only Santorini!
Rhodes, Dodecanese, Greece tommcatt... built in the 1300's we wanna stay. Foula's looking for a place for us! :) It's like something you would think Disney made but it's REAL!! We spent 2 days in Athens with Georgia in her apt. went on a day trip to Cape Sunyo. Spent yesterday on the beach. Back to the beach today not sure what we'll be doing the rest of the week. We decide when we wake up. Gotta go miss you all . More soon... :) will send pictures soon.
Rhodes, Dodecanese, Greece kandiehart... of little alleyways again and you realized that you had come back to where you started. It was fun and we spent about 4 hours in there and then walked back to the ship. Had a late lunch on the ship and went to our cabin to have our afternoon siesta and watched Get Smart on tv. We decided to have a day off the grog so watched the ship leave from deck 7 and headed to the Casino for a short time and then came home.
Rhodes, Dodecanese, Greece stephgraeme... a magnificent bronze statue of Helios, a Greek God. It was one of the seven wonders of the Ancient world. The statue only stood for 56 years before an earthquake destroyed it in 226BC.

The medieval town of Rhodes has now been declared a world heritage site. And no wonder with its winding old lanes, ancient defensive walls and its beautiful clear sky and water. We couldn't have afforded a night here but we sure are glad we got to spend a day in this touristy little town.
<br ...

Kolymbia, Greece realandy008... y Bday. We went to this lovely beach during the day and then again with our Canadians went to this sunset party at a bar which was up the top of this hill ( and yes we had to hike up). It was amazing, the view was just beautiful and you watched as the sun set into the water. As soon as the sun went down there a drag show and go go boy dancing. It was so much fun, although I do think we were nearly the only girls up there ( real ones at least) they were all gay and ...
Rhodes, Dodecanese, Greece nikkigoldsteinNext we were onto Rhodes, one of the most historically significant Greek Isles. We saw the medieval old town, the Acropolis (yes, Rhodes has one too), and the site where the Colossus of Rhodes presumably stood in ancient times. We also got in a little beach time and visited a neat pottery factory.
Rhodes, Dodecanese, Greece melanieandjames... Halloween passed off without so much as a whisper never mind a shriek. Two huge cruise ships docked in Rhodes harbour last night and a third arrived this morning so after yesterdays quiet I daresay the town will be busy. In the morning I managed to gain access to the Islamic cemetery via Gerald Durrell's brothers house. Although many of the graves and tombs are in a sad state of repair they somehow gain a greater degree of beauty from being that way. Perhaps a ...
Rhodes, Greece globalbedu... around. I walked down a narrow passageway to a cosy courtyard. Some of the doors to the rooms were open and I looked in. I coughed but nobody stirred. I stomped up some crooked stone stairs and found a small roof terrace with views of the cobbled street, and at the end of the street a thin patch of blue sea below the mountains of Western Turkey. The ambience was just right. I made up my mind that we were staying here.

We fetched our stuff up from the square and sat on the roof ...
