We continue to live just this side of disaster. This morning's ordeal was caused by some transportation confusion. Our bus from Fethiye to Demre, where our 3 night cruise departs, was scheduled to leave at 7:30am. At 7:00 we were out in front of our guesthouse ready to catch the dolmus (mini-bus) to the main bus station. For 20 minutes no bus came along and Sue went in to have the front desk call for a taxi. When she returned, she announced that the mini-buses don't even start ...

... boulders scrambling up their super slippery sides. The gorge was truly spectacular and we were delighted to have it mostly to ourselves. About an hour into our hike we came to a seemingly impassible section. The gorge, which had started out about 20 meters wide was now less than 3. Today was my last day in Koycegiz. I didn't cycle and made a calm day instead. I had a allergies in the morning and had to take a pill which made me sleepy... Anyway, I went downtown to have lunch and buy some last things. Then I came back to the Hotel to pack and update the blog. At the end of the afternoon I visited Merih and his family to say goodbye. Tomorrow I will take the airplane to Tel-Aviv.

    Full story coming soon...

    ... all their promotional material.

So we finally worked out where we were in relation to the lake and set off on foot ourselves. Not really much going on, town in hibernation really. Lake looked nice and warm though quite choppy. Quite a few boats but no staff in sight. Had a cold one (soft drink of course) in one of the many bars along the lake, nice spot, just not many people around. Found a boat ...
