... d tough it out. We had thought about taking the ferry to Levis but decided the highway might be quicker. Well the traffic going into the city center was heavy in spots but we made our way across the suspension bridge to the south shore of the St. Lawrence. We ran into a little more traffic into Levis but were onto clear roads by 8:35 am. We drove east along Hwy 2 towards Riviere du Loup. Before we hit the city, Maud told us to take the bypass which we did, completely bypassing the city.
Riviere du Loup, Quebec, Canada coventry_kid... time as it was freezing and wind was blowing hard. Our flight to Montreal was delayed and then our flight home was delayed. We were supposed to get home at 8:30pm but didn't get in until 2:00am. They also had put us on a different flight so we landed a Reagan and not Dulles and had to catch a cab to the other airport to get our car. Other than the flight home it was great trip and we look forward to heading back to Baie St.-Paul again. CheersFrank
Baie-St-Paul, Quebec, Canada slipperycoconutThe day announced it's self overcast and windy. We took the boat at 1:30 pm and headed up the estuary of St-Lawrence. We saw many belugas, seals, killer whales and hump back whales. The pictures suck because my zoom is only 10x. The boat ride was sooo windy. If you ever plan on going, make sure to take a hat and a wind breaker.
Riviere du Loup, Quebec, Canada majestee... that did not seem to be native to the area. We are driving so much that when we get to our destination, we just want to park the van and use our bikes or feet as much as we can. Rajiv has been doing all the driving so far. This is a very hilly region and you can hear the van chugging away as it climbs slowly, especially on some of the very steep hills. But keeping fingers crossed, the van is running well.
Baie-St-Paul, Quebec, Canada kalsi_kaur... spent a nice evening with my friend and classmate Shawn, his beautiful wife Nadine, and their very cool little boy Evan (sorry guys - I was home before I realized I forgot to take a picture!! My bad!) My stay at home was fantastic, better than I could have hoped for: I got to see more friends than I thought I could track down, and it was hard to leave. The final leg of the trip turned out to be much like the first - in less than an hour I hit the rain ...
St. Jean Port Joli, Quebec, Canada pharmo... could best be described as a "détente." But it is quickly evolving. Tonight she even leaned back against him as she was playing. She also left a toy on his back. All the while Shag was careful not to move a muscle. Joanna and I could never get away with that kind of thing... I went back to work today. It was hard to leave this morning, but it was fun to see everyone and tell them about Maia and our trip. And best of all, my two girls came for a visit mid-morning ...
