It has been unseasonably warm here with temperatures in the forties with some wind, but not enough to keep us inside. The heavier wind in the night removed most of the snow from the lake, making it impossible to get out and ski as we had planned. Again, so it goes...

I did nearly an hour's hike through the campground and was amazed at the number of Ravens hanging about. I have also seen three bald eagles so far. Some of the numerous Coots have been feeding them, if you get my meaning. No people here during this season of solitude. I like that, as you know. It refreshes one's spirit...

Hopefully I'll get a few pictures to share with you as I enjoy the serenity of this place.

Pulled into Fairmont RV Park and hoped that we could get a site without a reservation. The thing that caught my eye was "24 hour laundry" which i knew would be a big seller and got situated. ... only a skiff of snow, but enough to make skiing on the road doable. The campground trail was very good too. The sun finally came out and created another round of photo-ops. I got in another couple of miles skiing and am really enjoying it. The practice-affect is taking over, making it more pleasurable to cruise along over the great snow.

... TJ, his wife Amy and our six year old Grand Niece, Viv(ian) came and stayed for a night. What a treat it was to see them too.
