Hey Guys,

The next day we had a few hours to kill before we had to head to the airport. We had a late check out for 1pm as mum, paul & dad's flight to LA wasn’t until 4pm and my flight was 6.30pm so we didn’t have to be at the airport until 2ish. Since it was so hot we basically slept in a little that morning, had breakfast …

... people that don't speak French. As a chef, I also had high hopes for the food. We had two excellent meals in Paris, both included duck for me. Other than that, I wasn't really impressed with the food.

Italy was amazing, I would move there in a heartbeat! The people there are wonderful and friendly. Sitting inside the Colosseum was probably one of the best experiences of my life, it's amazing ...

... and from that moment on he was so rude to me throughout the whole night. The limo rocked up and it was really just a bus that they had made look like a limo...it was massive but nothing too exciting inside. Plus we actually just did a few laps as the club was only 3 blocks from the hostel!!
Anyway the club was awesome! Finally something good! Great DJ with good music and mixes. We had fun with the Perth girl and guy we met and the Russian ...

... Beach.

Nancy told me to call her to rebook and over the next four days she booked, re-booked, triple booked me on every flight to Miami until finally I got on the first one that actually flew out of Newark. I got a call from Nancy telling me to get my things and head to the airport; she had put me on a flight that she thought would actually take off. I couldn't even get into the airport because there were thousands of people in line to ...

Historical Traveler Reviews BEST WESTERN Atlantic Beach Resort Miami Beach

    Loved this hotel

    from Pat29

Me and my boyfriend stay at this hotel during the spring break. We enjoy our stay. We paid for a normal room, but we have a seaview room in the penthouse. The room was very clean and smell good. If you pay for it, the breakfast was good. A lot of choice with a good service. If we go back in Miami beach, we will reserve in this hotel for sure.

    Not bad at all

    from markEurope

I have stayed at the atlantic oceanfront hotel (now best western) in december 2006 and although the reviews were not that positive at all I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff is perhaps not walking always with a large smile but were courteous at all times. My room was clean, adequate and spacious and felt comfortable. The breakfast is included and not bad at all but avoid overcrowded peaktimes. The location was great, right on the beach and a pleasant walk over the wooden promenade brings you to the action at southbeach. Easy access to other areas by public transport if you don't bring/hire your car.

    Wirklich nicht schlecht

    from markEurope

    Stay away

If you like unpleasant staff that yells at you, treats you like a piece of dirt, dirty rooms, bad service, stay at this hotel. If you like to be treated well run as fast as you can. This hotel is the worst ever!

A staff that seems to forget their job descriptions

    from amh35

My friends and I stayed at the Best Western Atlantic beach resort March 3-7th. Miami itself was a great experience, beautiful and relaxing; however this was absolutely no thanks to our Best Western. When we first got there they mysteriously lost our reservation and we had to pay to use their internet to reprint reservation confirmation, which costs us 25 cents a minute to connect to and use, not to mention the girl had the worst attitude possible, rolling her eyes and sighing heavily. Then she said even with the confirmation she needed to REbook us and then she gave us more hassle about the credit card authorization. Room service was only from 5-10:30 and came from a hotel 3 blocks away, not to mention when you pushed the room service or guest services button on the phone from the room no one would answer and we had to go to the front desk for every concern. Then they tried to tell us that they don't bill room service to the room...how does that even make sense? Aside from the cleaning staff, who clean our rooms thoroughly no one seemed to realize that they had a job in customer service and that is what they were supposed to do, serve the customer. The staff was overall lazy and unfriendly. I'm sure you could find a hotel that has a cheaper rate and is a little nicer than Atlantic Beach Resorts.

    Viel Geld für wenig Service

    from Muushy

Alot of money for little service

    from Muushy

We stayed over during president's weekend. The price was outrageous for this type of hotel. It was clean, but nothing fancy. We got there before check in time and had to wait until 3:00 to get our room. When we went at 3:00 to get our room, they gave us an regular room when we had book and paid for an ocean view. With an attitude the desk person changed our room, but was going to make us wait even longer. We said that was unacceptable and they all of a sudden had a room that was open. The day desk staff was not very friendly, however the evening staff was much better. I would not stay again.

    Movin' On Up!

    from Ckimoo65

NOTE: I need to preface this review by remarking that this hotel has been a Marriott Fairfield Inn and also iHotelier. It is now a Best Western and that seems to improved the service as we did not have some of the problems that others have had.

My husband had a conference in Miami Beach at the Deauville. After reading reviews here about that hotel, I suggested he have his employer book a different hotel. Luckily, he did. Many people staying at the Deauville and another overflow hotel nearby left the conference early because of the low quality.

My husband arrived at the Best Western on Feb 11 and I joined him on Feb 13. The first pictures I have posted are of the room that he was originally booked into. I didn't like it. While it was renovated and clean, there was a pronounced smell of mold in the bathroom, I think, from the shower curtain. Our window looked out onto an alley and another building. If you smashed your face against the window and looked to the right you could see a smidgen of the ocean.

Checking my hubby's itinerary against the prevailaing rate at the hotel, I suspected that he was being overcharged. I never really was able to find out if he was BUT...

when we went to check on it at the front desk to see about it and about the possibilities of getting an upgraded room, the person behind the desk offered to give us an OCEANFRONT room for the same rate that we were paying. So, we didn't ask anymore questions.

All the rooms on the north side of the building (odd numbered rooms) were the worst in terms of view. All the rooms on the southern side had balconies angled to have an oceanview.

Getting an oceanfront room, we went from the worst to the best.

The new accomodation had more room and even an extra closet. We had a balcony that overlooked the pool deck and the view of the ocean was great. There was a strong paint smell when we first walked in but that dissipated.

More importantly, we could get some outside air into the room and the bathroom did not smell so bad. Being on the corner of the building we also had a window on the side of the room.

All the rooms have a fridge and a safe in the closet. Also, ironing board and iron and blow dryer. The bathroom is tiled all over all the way up to the ceiling on each wall. Water pressure was wonderful.

They also had some rather nice baby cribs-- I saw one in the hall. If you need to get a crib or a roll away, I would suggest trying to book one of the corner rooms because you will have more room to put it--room #12 on each floor (#412, #512, etc--we wer ein #512).

The beach was pretty nice--got deep pretty quick though so those with children need to be very careful.

My husband had the hot breakfast buffet and enjoyed it. The beds were very firm.

The thing that bothered about this hotel is that the walls are like paper. Staying in #512 which is right by a service elevator it sounded like there people right in the room. Ear plugs helped a lot! The curtains keep the light out so you can sleep in.

Just south of this hotel is the Marriott Courtyard which features a surf side Carrabba's. It has a limited but adequate menu but it was a nice place to have a stress free dinner outside a stone's throw from the beach.

I would reccommend this hotel for the price, the view and the fact that I think its new management is doing a better job now and that this is a recent change. Try, try, try to get an oceanview or oceanfront room so that you have some airflow--it is worth it!

    Hated it

    from SophieHolland

We are from the Netherlands and prior to our cruises we always book a hotel in Miami.

Well, we never had a hotel as bad as this one.

I read a few reactions and they are all so true! You can't get a late checkout and you can only inform for this in the morning of your checkout. In our case the Miami boatshow was starting, but the evening before they didn't know if it was going to be bussy and in the morning at 7 am, they told me that of course I couldn't get a late checkout. Almost as if I was the dumbest person arround.

Another strange thing is to go to breakfast. Each morning you have to get a voucher for it. Not that you get all your vouchers at the beginning of your stay, No, you have to collect it every morning. Almost like your in the 2nd world war and there is not enough foot.

The last thing I am going to say about this want-to-be-hotel: when hotel employees work like that in Holland, they will be fired immmediately. I never saw a bunch of unfriendly people like that before.

So never - I say NEVER - stay in this hotel. It's terrible! For the Dutch people on tripadvisor: Alsjeblieft, doe het niet. Het is dat toen wij dit hotel boekten er nog weinig reacties over te vinden waren, maar het is echt extreem slecht!
