First, I should say that I never use the term "Xmas," which I think is an ugly word, but I couldn't resist the ridiculous rhyme.

We are now in Lexington, KY, having finished the first leg of the nearly 1200 mile driving tour. We ran around like crazy this morning doing chores--most of which would have been done yesterday if the power hadn't gone ...

... even passed an old abandoned building called “Social center for crippled children”. Now there is a haunted house if I ever saw one. We were going to stop at a Wal-Mart in one of these towns but they all kind of freaked us out so we took an extra hour and drove to Winchester Kentucky (There is at least one Winchester in every state). There we found a nice little city with a quiet Wal-Mart. Thank ...

Today was our first full day in Lexington. After a rather easy start to our morning, we made our way to downtown Lexington and spent a good deal of time at the Lexington Central Library. The Library is a five story building featuring America's largest ceiling clock. The clock's pendulum hangs from the fifth floor of the entryway atrium and swings just above the floor near the front doors and main desk.

      We then enjoyed a ...
