    ... clocked at 43 MPH. Good Grief - can't imagine being in a horse travelling that fast. He was said to have had a stride of 25'. WOWSER. 3:50 - Berea, KY - came right to the spot we enjoyed so much last year (going and coming) and the damn place was closed for renos - really?? 2 days in a row for favourites closed for renos.     Tonight, we're watching part 2 of The Hobbit, homework, as Tim put it, for the drive-in in Ft. Worth, where we will see part 3 of The Hobbit. We watched part 1 last night.

    Tomorrow is the big driving day--we're headed to Hope, AR, where we will stay overnight and visit the Clinton national park site on Tuesday morning. More anon!

    We were only an hour away from Lexington Kentucky and that meant an hour away from bourbon and BBQ. Kentucky is famous for its bourbon and they have something called The Kentucky Bourbon Trail which consists of 8 distilleries in Kentucky that produce large quantity bourbon including Makers Mark, Jim Beam, Wild Turkey, and Four Roses.     We were making our way towards Lexington Kentucky to do some bourbon drinking but it was still a little too far away to do in a single drive.
