... 936) 295-8322. Cafe Texan, site of one of those near-miss pedestrian incidents, served up my first Texas chicken-fried steak, and it was delicious! I had to scrape off a lot of gravy to reveal the crunchy coating, but what I ate was good and peppery. The mashed potatoes were the real deal, full of skins, and the green beans had bits of ham. The peach 'cobbler', though, was canned peaches with a bit of soggy granola on top - glad it came with lunch, because ...
Huntsville, Texas, United States marijkaSo I get here in the early evening, long enough time to hang at the Starbucks till it closed, thats why the last entry was put short. That evening went to the Jolly Fox Club and met an Armenian, and a welder, and a cool guy Steven, he bought me some drinks. Great. Met the owner of that place, and of the Humphreys. Had some drinks, and a sort of bad night, got sick in the hotel, and cleaned that up ...
Huntsville, Texas, United States jblankissuper... though most of them seem to be in North County - and it seems that peoplea re genuinely embarassed when it's brought up. I'll probably wait until after next summer to make my final decision since there are positions opening all the time. I want to get at least one more semester of school it at KPC. I would like to graduate with a bachelor's from KPC - which has been incredibly good to me for the last two and a half years of my life. This time ...
The Woodlands, Texas, United States cogliostro... and expiratory wheezing. After getting a set of vitals, I gave her a Xopanex treatment per protocol. Her lung sounds turned out to be upper airway, I was hearing them in the lower airway though, since she was so small. The Xopanex was still appropriate, however. We also ended up giving her 60mg of Solu-medrol. When we arrived, the doctor was very cranky. She didn't even wait for us to get the patient out... she said "I can't wait for you guys" and climbed in the ...
The Woodlands, Texas, United States cogliostroWell, I tried logging in today and lo and behold I have internet access from my hotel room. It's slow and cumbersome, but it's something! I got a call from Connie, my contact with MCHD and she's going to be assigning me a preceptor and hopefully getting my schedule worked out today! One of the students from KPC's first paramedic ...
The Woodlands, Texas, United States cogliostroWe went to Bastop State Park. It is not very big, but good enough for my first backpacking experience! We hiked 3/4 of the trail the first day and stayed the night. The trail is small enough to do in one day but we wanted to camp out. It was very pretty but we camped in the wrong area and could hear the highway : ( Over all I enjoyed the hike.
Bastop, Texas, United States aupairThis was my first time to Texas. I really liked it as a state. I am used to the mountainous region of Appalachia. Texas is totally flat, and I really liked that. I told some of my friends about it, and they were like,"It's all flat, why would you want to go there?!" Screw them, okay. It was great, and I think that they were jealous of me for getting to go. Waco was really cool.
Waco, Texas, United States lambchopSo driving back and forth between Houston and Dallas/Ft Worth, I always pass the big Sam Houston statue in Huntsville. Finally one day I decided to stop and take a picture. Basically it's just right there on the side of the highway. I was trying to take a picture and all the truckers were honking at me. Someone told me it used to have a huge "bulge" in the pants area, but the town voted to have it shaved down.
Huntsville, Texas, United States sarichka10What a great two days we all spent in Austin--meeting each other and learning more about the trip to Egypt. Both Chris and Kamran were awesome. They willingly shared their knowledge and personal anecdotes about the Middle East. The lectures were so informative --from academics on the growth of cities and the history of Islam to the nuts and bolts of what NOT to eat and what NOT to wear. I think when Chris put the ticket into my hand, I finally realized I was really going to Egypt!
