Making good time today riding I-90. Going to leave it and take SR 14 the rest of the way to Sheridan (2 hrs) so we don't get in so early.

Made a lunch stop in Gillette at the local Perkins. Nice to have breakfast selections all day long!

The sheer scale of the place - 2.2 million acres of it Yellowstone, and that only a small corner - just sort of washes over you as you drive, hours on end, foot on the floor, going 80 or faster, because that's the speed limit. Today we wound down out of Yellowstone, over the Sylvan Pass through hazy blue canyons ...

some to the good and others not so
        good. It now cost $11
bucks just to park your car.
Fortunately they didn’t charge us an entrance fee. Had
        good picture taking weather then.
Then went through Deadwood back towards I-90
