      ... For instance in the kitchen the vent was at each end (balance) of the counter allowing the perfect place to warm plates. In one of the bathrooms, at the back of a long shelf towels that hung above were warmed. There was no air conditioning, the windows all opened front to back providing the best cross breezes in the heat of summer.
