Day 6 back on the road

Salina to Mount Vernon, Illinois was a particularly un-newsworthy day. I looked like we’ve used a little bit of oil – that’s not very exciting and I’m not sure what to think of it. The husband was bringing in stuff from the garden just as I pulled in, so I was rewarded with some garden fresh cucumbers, green and sweet peppers, and 1/2 dozen fresh eggs from the chickens ranging around the park. It is really quiet here and I am looking forward to a good nights sleep and a ride tomorrow.

... to find where I was and they had contacted me through a satellite system that tracks their cars. Scared me to death, but I was so relieved and happy to know Steve was okay and I gather he was happy to know I was okay too. So for a short time I was apparently listed missing with the local sheriff, nearly a wanted person. We can laugh about it now, but it shook me a little at the time. I'd lost my husband and friends and they thought they'd lost ...
