His tee shot settled beside a nail, flat on the wooded ties bordering the water. Being a lefty gave him a break getting onto the green from that. Laughs were had by all. Then on the green of the next hole, not to be outdone by trick shots, I proceeded to do the exact thing. Only there was no nail stopping my ball. We absolutely love this State Park, and will be sad to leave tomorrow morning. We have hiked two of their nature trails (Rocky Bayou and Sand Pine) every day and have managed to do over 11,000 steps every day that we walked. ... now staying. It's a small world! Today we drove into Destin to Home Depot for a water regulator gauge and a grill propane hose -- not especially fun, but necessary. Then on to Henderson Beach State Park to walk on the beautiful white sand beach -- got our 10,000 steps in and enjoyed every minute of it. Gulf beaches are probably the most beautiful in the world -- or at least we think ...
