After two failed attempts to visit Nashville, we have finally arrived. And, it was everything we hoped it to be. Did not have much time to spend, but visited Tootsie's honkey tonk on Broadway and enjoyed two amazing country bands. Our drive south on I65 was very pleasant. A beautiful sunny fall day after a week of rainfall. Going to bed early. A …

      Sleep is overrated

After finally crashing at 3:30am and sleeping fitfully, 8am came around very quickly. I woke up feeling like a truck had hit me. Still, with ziplining in my future, I got my body down to the breakfast room as quickly as possible. The Sleep Inn was nice (I like their new fresh look), but the breakfast at this particular hotel was very uninspired. Normally, I'm happy to eat biscuits and gravy anywhere. ... impression of downtown Nashville failed to charm me. One bar after another filled with tourists listening to all manner of ensembles playing mostly cover songs in four hour shifts for around $50 in tips. It's like busking indoors. I did give a dollar to a bum with a cardboard ...

... tapping. Wish we could have danced but weren't allowed.

We got dropped off at Broadway and went to Coyote Ugly. That place is one of the sleaziest I have seen in a long time and we got the hell out quicker than we got in.

We went searching for some music but Tuesday nights are quiet in Nashville. Another lesson learned. Got the last shuttle for the night back to the hotel.

... went to collect her bike which was having a service and checking the knocking noise in her engine. While they were collecting the bike Steve and I went for lunch at Hard Rock Café and a walk along the river.

After a coffee and an ice cream we met John and Jenni and explored Nashville some more. Our first stop was Margaritaville, then BB Kings, we decided to go to Coyote Uglys, where Jen and I were asked for our ID, think they needed my glasses haha. ...
