Basketball
... up in Bournemouth!
After church Frank had arranged for Peter M to take us to a basketball game at The Carrier Dome on Syracuse University campus. We have never been to a basketball game before so we were very excited but did not really know what to expect. frank dropped us off and we joined all the other people walking toward the Dome. Lots of them were wearing orange: hats, sweatshirts, scarves,
t-shirts, including Peter M who had a Syracuse ...
And then it snowed!!
On Friday evening we went to see a stage version of White Christmas at the Syracuse Stage. On the same evening the Christmas tree was being lit in Clinton Square and although the timing did not allow us to attend both events we drove past the tree and all the other lights in the city on the way home.
On Saturday morning we awoke to snow! Not a lot but enough to get us excited. This area of U.S. gets a lot of snow in the winter and they are all geared up to it. ...
We set off..........and celebrate Thanksgiving
... glasses of wine and we fell into bed and slept until morning (which would have been about 12 midday if we had still been in England but I refer back to the watch trick!) Staying with Frank tends to be a social whirl of catching up with old friends - lovely for us but probably not of great interest to all of you who have never met them!

Game day
Prisel je tezko pricakovani dan tekme, ko so se domaci Syracuse Orange (4 zmage, 5 porazov) udarili z rangiranimi Louisville Cardinalsi iz Kentuckyja (9 zmag, brez poraza). Tekma se je igrala v Carrier Dome-u, ki je najvecji pokrit stadion na univerzitetnem kampusu v ZDa, pred 40.312 gledalci. Stadion je v bistvu na moji dnevni poti v bolnico, tako da je bilo zanimivo videti poplavo navijacev ...
The 'Cuse
... je super, imam veliko sobo, ampak spara na kurjavi, zato je ponavadi okoli 15 stopinj. On okoli hodi v kratkih rokavih, jaz pa se rabim nekaj casa, da se navadim.
Do bolnice imam pes pol ure, je pa lep sprehod skozi mirne ulice in kampus univerze Syracuse. Delam na pediatriji, ki je bila zgrajena pred nekaj leti, tako da je vse lepo zrihtano in fensi. Dodelili so me v ekipo za infekcijske bolezni, tako da vecino casa delamo na oddelku na posvetih (consult-ih) ...
