We had a nice, quiet, chilled out day. So relaxed, in fact, that I completely forgot that we had any plans, but finally realised we were going to Scott's parents (pre-Thanksgiving) when he had his coat and shoes on and I was still in my PJ’s.
Had my first taste of pumpkin pie and spent the evening chatting about all the Thanksgiving food preparations and what to expect tomorrow.
Waffles for breakfast again! Today we went for a walk up to a really pretty waterfall and had lunch by the lake in Ithaca, sandwiches with ham, cheese, pickles, salami and mustard (which I made btw). Then a little drive up to Scott's parents place with a detour around his home town, was cool to see the farm where he grew up.
Met Scott’s family and had fish and chips for dinner, just like home! Quiet evening in front of Fox News and making plans for the next week.
You know I love blogs. So, what better way to keep us all in touch and see the terrific things happening to the Vogel family? Post your events, travels and pictures to this blog for us all to see! Post often. Mom needs to know where you are, if you are all OK, and I want all the info over coffee each morning! I love you all!
Baldwinsville, New York, United States vogelfamiliaWell, the first day of our East Coast trip was deja vu all over again. The last time we made this trek was in about 1969, and we had won the use of an Open Road conversion camper from the Chevy Plant. We drove from Cleveland to Western New York in the driving rain, and arrived with everything we owned soaking wet. It was not quite as bad this time, but it did rain most of the way. We drove to Erie on I-90, then took I-86 along the southern end of New York ...
Skaneateles, New York, United States captnoindustry... because the guys talking to us were the owners of wineries. Imagine Moore Winery and Hunt Country Winery, both family owned businesses.
One had a 2007 Late Harvest Vignoles wine that was close to an ice wine, where they wait ill late in the season before they harvest the grapes. By then the bunches are close together and the sugars have become prominent. Grandma later bought a bottle of this, not too much damage that she only bought one wine and ...
... dough but it misses out on the best part by not having thought of show bags. I will say that it is alot cheaper. $1 baked potatoes iwth everything, $6 pre sale entry and $5 parking. Otherwise all fair's are basically the same.
Altogether a good fair though. The best thing about this place. People come from all over new york state to come to it and it is a long running tradition.
... that alot can be achieved in that time. careers can be changed, situations, relationships can all feel like a couple different lives. I thank God for every day that I wake up alive, If he is planning on giving me many more, I dont have to worry about being enexperienced and feeling incapable because I will have plenty of time to hone my skills, pursue my passions and learn new lessons.
I don't know why I get so worried when I know that God gave me passions to follow ...
... set up next to us. I asked why since there were several open sites but was told that I parked and setup in the wrong spot. Finally the manager agreed that the park was at fault and I could stay and he put the other camper in another spot.
I had to twist Kathy's arm to get her to go to the Turning Stone casino in Verona,N.Y.. She only played bingo and did not even play the slots.( Is she ...
... The roads in New York are wonderful and we are just north of the finger lakes the area is hilly and beautiful. I took only one picture today as the camera was in waterproof protection and I was in hammer mode. The forecast was for more rain in the afternoon and I wanted to get in. The ride was 73 miles and we had the wind in our face 10 to 15 mph and climbed 3100 feet.
Liverpool, New York, United States bot989... 30' boat. It made for some challenging docking and our first locking wasn't pretty. Fortunately, more due to luck than good seamanship, we managed to come up the dirtiest, slimiest walls in the world without damaging the boat. We went through the first three locks today and have stopped in a small town called Minetto. Our lock skills improved but the condition of the locks didn't. We thought the Welland was dirty but it is pristine compared to the scum on these walls. In ...
